Ocean City State Park
Ocean City State Park is a year-round, 170-acre camping park, featuring ocean beach, dunes and dense thickets of shore pine. Migratory birds may be viewed at the park, and beachcombing is a popular activity.
You can't beat a nice campground, walking distance from the ocean and one that is always busy and filled with children laughing and playing. We like this park, however have since moved over to the "other ocean beach" - Grayland since the area isn't such a tourist destination like Ocean Shores.
These sites definitely allow you room for your family to move, play games, etc. however there isn't much privacy (trees, etc.) between the sites.
There are several paths from the campground out to the beach - but do take note, like all the other establishments along the beach, you cannot actually see beach from the campground. It does make it difficult if you small children and lugging them plus a lot of play toys, etc. because strollers really won't make it through the terrain to the beach, as they are not paved. Your best bet would be to pack up the family and the toys in the car and drive out on the beach for some hours of adventure. One day, we even loaded our pop-up shelter tent, lawn chair, lunch and beverages and spent hours out there! Some of the kids took naps in the car - and it was fantastic!
Bikes or No Bikes?
I think if your kiddos love riding bikes around campgrounds, this would be an ok park to bring the bike. But the campground is the limit since you can't ride on the beach and the campground is right off a busy highway.
The campground is only 5 minutes from the town of Ocean Shores, and I have always believed that the Town of Ocean Shores just leaves a lot to be desired.
Such as a main street in town offering gift shops, restaurants, etc. -- unfortunately those are scattered around the town and a nice walk or requires getting in and out of vehicles to visit.
The town does offer a Family Fun Center that is primarily video games with an ice cream shop attached and a Bowling Alley. Near the campground, there is also the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. I also just read that in 2010 a Skateboard park opened in Ocean Shores.
