Camping in the Northwest - From a family who thought they'd share notes
Twin Harbors Beach State Park

Reservations through Washington State Parks.

Twin Harbors Beach State Park is a 172-acre camping park near Westport. The area allows opportunities for nature study and seaside activity along the Pacific Ocean shore, and the chance to lie in the sand and soak up the sun.

Overall.
We didn't personally stay at this campsite, but did a drive-thru of it for the purpose of this website while we were camping nearby at Grayland.

Campsite.
The campground runs on both sides of Hwy 105 with the main entrance (and check in office) on the East Side.  This looks more like a park for mostly Tents since only about 50 of the 250 sites are set up for RV's.  And we looked at those sites (1 - 49) and they are very small, packed close together with little privacy and not very well maintained.  One of these sites would be very tight for our 36' travel trailer  and truck.

The Check-In Office attendant said the Westside was most preferred by campers.  We drove through these sites - which are set up for Tents and offers a couple Yurts throughout.  They looked like o.k. sites.  For some reason, a number of the access roads through the Westside of the campground were closed.

Group Camp.
The park offers a group camp that accommodates up to 60 people. It features a picnic shelter and a campfire circle. Parking is limited to 10 vehicles. Electrical power is not available and there is no night lighting.

Beach.
Walking distance from the campsites through natural trails.  Assuming it is similar to the beach off of Grayland State Park with an access road for vehicles closeby (Bonge Avenue).

Play Area.
We saw one area that offered Horseshoes and Ladder Ball - with a picnic table and firepit nearby.

Bikes or No Bikes?
Looking at the park, I wouldn't bring the bikes unless you want to throw in the kids bikes only for riding throughout the park.

Vicinity.
(see notes under Grayland Beach State Park)

Yes, we are camping, but we still need the Electronics.
Air card – very slow connection.
Cell phone - intermittent.
